Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am not in-network with insurance providers. However, many clients are able to use their out-of-network benefits to receive partial reimbursement. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage, I can provide a monthly superbill to help with that process.
Why are you out-of-network?
Choosing to remain out-of-network allows me to provide care that is personalized, flexible, and centered on your unique needs. This means we are not limited by the constraints of insurance companies, such as session caps or diagnosis requirements. We are free to focus on depth, pacing, and creating a space that honors your nervous system and lived experience.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed invoice that includes the necessary information your insurance provider needs to consider reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. You can submit it directly to your insurance company, and they will determine your reimbursement based on your plan.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, you are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of therapy services. This estimate outlines the expected fees for your care so that you can make informed financial decisions. You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time.
How do I pay for sessions?
All payments are made out-of-pocket. I accept payment via credit card or HSA/FSA cards, and payment is collected securely through my client portal at the time of each session.
Do you offer sliding scale or reduced-fee sessions?
At this time, I have limited availability for sliding scale sessions. If cost is a barrier, I am happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues or local organizations that may offer lower-fee options.
How do I get started?
The best way to get started is to reach out using the contact form on my website. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if working together feels like a good fit. You are welcome to ask questions, share a little about what you are looking for, or just get a sense of how I work.
